Aimée Ní Chonaing (Gaeilge, English and Ethical Education)

Aimée is originally from Dublin but living in Galway for the past seven years and feels practically part of the furniture. She completed a joint Honors Bachelor of Arts in Gaeilge and English and Máistreacht Gairmiúil san Oideachas at the University of Galway.

Aimée is extremely passionate about all my subjects and fell in love with the Gaeilge in the Donegal Gaeltacht as a teenager and continued to pursue a saol trí Ghaeilge. She is an active member of pobal na Gaeilge as the president of Club Áras na nGael and the Connacht representative for Conradh na Gaeilge’s Líonra Alumni. She has also been a foghlaim TG4 presenter and freelance panelist for Raidió na Gaeltachta,.

In her spare time, Aimée has a keen interest in poetry and is a member of poetry group Ó Bhéal na mBan. She has worked on projects for poetry day Ireland in collaboration with Ciara Ní É, Áine Ghlinn and Celia de Fréine. She has hosted Irish poetry workshops in schools across Galway in collaboration with Gaeilge ABC.
