Important update

Dear Parents, Guardians,

We don’t have long to go before we open next week, we are really looking forward to seeing everyone. Hopefully you all read the previous message with the return to school details and that you and the students are clear about what is happening each day.

Please take note of the following important updates and go through them with the students so that they are aware and prepared.

School Buses

School buses will run at the normal morning times from Tuesday, August 26th.
From Tuesday to Thursday, they will pick up at 12 noon to match the earlier finishing time for the first 3 days. On Friday it will run in line with full school day 8.30am to  2.30pm.

Please note that due to Short Course tasters, 1st Years only will be in school until 1pm on Thursday and so will not make the buses.

Mobile Phones and Headphones

As part of our Healthy Living and Wellbeing policy and As per new Department of Education national guidance (circular 45/2025), students are not allowed to use their mobile phones in school. Please advise your child that this is now national policy and phones are not to be used on the premises. This will also impact the use of Airpods or other ear buds and headphones. These are not allowed to be used on the premises and should be kept in school bags or lockers. Students are advised to lock their lockers to avoid any issues. As per our Acceptable Use Policy, if a phone is seen out it will be confiscated for that day. A second incident requires a parent or guardian to come to collect it. We are looking into phone pouches but are implementing other strategies first. We will come back to you on this.

Locks for Lockers

All students  should bring a lock for their locker to school with them on the first day so that they can leave their materials in school. If it is a lock with a key, one spare key should be stored safely at home. If it is a combination lock, please help the student to set up the code before coming in to school.

iPad Issues

Wriggle will be on site on Wednesday to assist with any iPad issues. We would strongly advise that students charge iPads and log into Teams in advance of returning to school to make sure that all is working and ready for the term ahead. Students should bring any issues to the attention of their tutors on Wednesday morning so that Wriggle can fix them when they are here.

Car Park and School Entrance
The side gate is no longer available to students in the morning  and evening. For Health and Safety reasons, all students must enter through the gate and door at Reception. We appreciate your cooperation with this.

School Books and Stationery

1st Years will receive their materials on Wednesday and so must have a lock for their locker, otherwise they will need to bring a big bag so that they can bring them home.
5th and 6th Years will get their materials on Tuesday and must have a lock for locker or a big bag to take them home.
Students should not leave anything in a locker unless it is locked.
