Jade Murphy- English and History

Jade was awarded a First Class Honours degree from NUIG in both her undergraduate degree in Creative Writing, English, and History, and in her Professional Masters of Education. She is a passionate English and History teacher at Galway Educate Together Secondary School. Having also taught abroad in Melbourne, Australia, she brings a global perspective and an inclusive, student-centred approach to her teaching.

Jade loves exploring literature in all its forms and has published Poetry in two of Ireland’s literary journals, Poetry Ireland Review and The Stinging Fly. She enjoys guiding students through the art of close reading and critical thinking. She has a particular interest in helping students prepare for exams, teaching them practical study skills and effective retrieval strategies that build confidence and independence.

Beyond the classroom, Jade finds joy and creativity in sea swimming, gardening, floristry, and ballet.
