Richard Brown - English & History Teacher

Richard is originally from Meath, and moved to Galway to complete is BA in English, History, and Theatre and Performance and Postgraduate Masters in Education at the National University of Ireland, Galway.

During his placement, he had the opportunity to work alongside SEN units and SNAs both in person and virtually. He really enjoyed working with students to achieve their personal goals, and was delighted to be joining the SSA team at GETTS in 2021 and as a teacher of English and History in 2022. He is passionate about inclusive education and is excited to work with the team on achieving the goals of the school.

Outside of school, Richard has a key interest in theatre. In 2016, he took a career break to become a professional Stage Manager for three touring productions around Ireland. Now, he is an active member of Renmore Pantomime and Twin Productions. When he has a spare weekend, he enjoys volunteering as a cara at Barretstown Serious Fun Camp in Kildare or sea swimming around Galway Bay.
